Originally sketched and coloured for wallpaper, Lent Lily comes from a previously unfinished watercolour by William Morris, and preserved at The Huntington. The artwork was thoughtfully completed by the Morris & Co. design studio as part of the Morris & Co. x The Huntington collection, the first collection of original Morris designs to emerge in more than a century.
Its name refers to the miniature wild daffodils, traditionally known as Lent lilies, nestled amongst the bold tulips and swirling acanthus leaves of the design.
