CURTAIN FABRIC CALCULATOR

Curtain fabric calculator

Our curtain fabric calculator has been designed to help you determine how much fabric to order. Simply put in your dimensions, preferred heading type such as a pencil pleat, pinch pleat, tab top or eyelet and let the calculator do the rest.

The curtain calculator makes an allowance for pattern repeat, fullness and hems for you. However, this calculator will not be suitable if you are using this fabric horizontally, only vertically.

Enter your measurements and curtain details below and the calculator will tell you the amount of fabric required.

cm
Either provide the length of your existing track/pole (excluding finials) or estimate based on your window opening. Usually the pole/track extends beyond the window width by between 15cm (6in) and 35cm (14in) each side of the window opening. See our measuring guide for more information on how to measure.
cm
Enter the required finished length from curtain top to hem. The calculator adds an allowance of 30cm (12in) per drop for hems and headings. See our measuring guide for more information on how to measure.
The type of curtain heading will determine the appropriate fullness options for your curtains, which will be presented below upon selection.
The fullness is the number of times the curtain fabric exceeds the track width. This factor determines the look of the curtain folds.
cm
You can find this under Fabric Details on your chosen fabric page. If you are using the width as the drop, please call us.
cm
You can find this under Fabric Details on your chosen fabric page. If there is no vertical pattern repeat, leave this blank.
Number of identical curtains that you require. If you have selected “Pair” within PAIR OR SINGLE above then this will be the number of identical pairs of curtains. If you have selected “Single” within PAIR OR SINGLE above then this will be the number of identical single curtains.
Use the width of the fabric as the length. Generally appropriate for wide width fabrics that have been designed to be used in this way.
If your fabric has a distinctive pattern, and is only to be used for these curtains, you may want to add the length of one pattern repeat to ensure that you can start the pattern in the best possible position.
Calculation based on:
  • An additional 30cm on the hem and heading turnings.
  • The calculator is not suitable if using fabric sideways.
