A Penchant for Pimpernel
As seen in your homes
Bold, energetic, and just a little daring, Pimpernel swirls and spirals with a potent energy that has lured many Morris & Co. fans, including its creator, William Morris, over its long history.
Designed in 1876, Pimpernel is named not for its bulbous tulip heads, the dramatic star of the design show, but for the creeping, intoxicating charm of the miniature wildflower that winds its way through the design.
Pimpernel looks just swell, from armchairs to drapes, pillows to quiet nooks, wherever it may dwell. A floral shapeshifter, Pimpernel delights in the flora and fauna, feeling almost psychedelic in its form.
Its true intention, as Morris designed it, was as a wallpaper, which he then selected for his dining room at Kelmscott Manor.
Now, we’re seeing the design's tempting tendrils leap from the dining table and wind its way through your homes. Inspired by your use of our bold Victorian head-turner, we’ve rounded up a few of our favorites to show how Pimpernel works in any room.

Room One: A Grand Entrance
At home in any season, this entrance hall space at Faldonside in the Scottish Highlands was designed by @the_studio_melrose to embrace the vista from the front door, welcoming in nature, quite literally, with Pimpernel ready to greet guests of all kinds.
Room Two: Powder Room Panache
Samantha Stein Interiors knows how to do bathrooms, and this Nashville home reveals the beauty of our powerful wallpaper. The softest colorways from our Pure Morris collection balance the evocative spirit of the design. Shot by @carolinesharpnack.
Room Three: Sweet Dreams
In one of our most adored colorways, Pimpernel is a dream to behold in a bedroom or nursery setting. Soft shades of green and pink take Pimpernel to a calming realm where the tulip's beauty and the wildflower pimpernel's delicate nature can up the sweetness of this sanctuary space. And so do you! @meganpittmaninteriors has nailed the brief, bringing Morris & Co. to the table, blended with modern and traditional furniture pieces and walnut architrave to set it all off.
